Environmental Process Timeline

The California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) requires that California State and local agencies prepare an Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for actions that may significantly affect the quality of the human and natural environment. Similarly, the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) requires an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for major federal actions that may significantly affect the quality of the human and natural environment.
